Why you'd want to live in Marietta / East Cobb
Marietta is approximately 20 miles northwest of Atlanta. The area referred to as “East Cobb” is not an official city yet represents the northeast corner of Cobb County. Homes here will have a Marietta or Roswell address. There’s a small section of Cobb County adjacent to Roswell which has a address yet lies in Cobb County. Residents are not part of the city of Roswell and attend East Cobb schools. Marietta is home to more than 300,000 residents and is the county seat of Cobb County, Georgia’s third largest county with over 700,000 citizens. In the center of Marietta Square is Glover Park, home to many great concerts, events, and more. The Square is surrounded by numerous restaurants, shops and attractions. There are residential opportunities within walking distance to the square, condos, townhomes, cluster homes and historic homes. East Cobb offers a wide range of housing, most are on wooded lots. The majority are in established neighborhoods built between the early 70’s to late 90’s. There are some newer developments yet because the area was well established, these developments are more infill, meaning they generally consist of 5-15 homes. East Cobb offers a combination of affordable taxes, top schools and established neighborhoods which makes it one of the top choices for relocating families.
