This is a great school. The majority of the staffs I've met were great. The school offer TAG, which my daughter is in and I'm just really content about that. They really do care and recognizes your child's level

We couldn't take it any more...we felt that we had to leave AHE, for our child's sake. I agree with other comments that much of the "history" that is taught is left-leaning. I would prefer neutrality. Also, it is a shame, but there is truth in the comments about the CRCT. This truly is the priority, and not the children. They are learning how to take tests...when are they going to learn how to think? We were also disappointed with the parent-teacher conference(s): this was basically an 8-minute slice of time (because the teacher was running late) dedicated to a one-way information flow about our child. No chance for conversation. No room for compassion.

My daughter just passed out from Abotts hill school. My son is in 2nd grade. We have been associated with the school for 6 years. We have come across various types of teachers. Some of the teachers have been exceptional and take a lot of pride in their student's achievements. Then there are some who are just average and do not get involved in betterment of their students. Therefore it depends on what teacher you get in Abootts Hill.

Abbotts Hill now ranks in the lower tier of schools in the surrounding area in terms of achievement scores. Of course, this is despite a protraced and laborious effort on behalf of the staff to have their students focused on CRCT achievement to benefit the staff and funding. The school is the most politically correct of all of the local elementary schools which is a dubious distinction even amongst public schools. It is not uncommon to find classroom walls covered with photos of Cesar Chavez, Frankling and Eleneor Roosevelt, Thurgood Marshall and various other liberal icons. Students spend a great deal of time learning about racism and focusing on identity politics to the detriment of any actual depth of understanding of American history in it;s entirety. There are many well intentioned teachers but at least an equal number more dedicated to agenda politics and their status than developing balanced and learned minds.

Abbotts Hill has been a wonderful place for my children. We have been at the school for 4 years. Both of my children have had fantastic, warm, thoughtful and creative teachers. As an educator myself, I have been pleased with the level of education that my children are receiving. The administration has worked hard to provide a warm environment that focuses on consistency and community. Parents are invited and welcomed to take an active role in the school. We are blessed to have many great schools in the area, and AHE is one of them!!

THIS SCHOOL IS AMAZING. The school is great because the Teachers are dedicated and they want to teach you.another thing is that the principal and vice principal are focused on improving the student's learning experience. If you have a child in TAG you should not hesitate to move here because they have a great TAG program and two outstanding TAG teachers.

I rate this school as below average because it is comparing it to the other schools in the area. Both of my children went to Abbotts Hill and my daughter's experience was mostly good but my son's was not. His final two years were awful. Bad teachers and the principal, while I actually enjoy talking to her, doesn't treat the boys fairly in my opinion. The assistant principal is much better but I spent too much time talking to her because of his teachers. At least his fourth grade teacher left the school, which is a definate plus

We moved to this area with high hopes for the school system and started our son at AHE for kdg. We are very disappointed in the experience thus far. The amount of worksheets is unbelievable for K-1, there is no opportunity for creativity, and if your kid happens to not respond well to a teaching strategy consisting of nothing but worksheets, then you better be prepared for them to tell you that he/she must be adhd. We will be pulling our child out of this school to make up valuable time lost from his education over the past year and a half. The bottom line is that the school only cares about teaching to the CRCT so that they look good and get more money from the school system. It has nothing to do with reaching the students and truly 'teaching' them.

Abbotts Hill is an excellent school, my daughter is in kindergarden and attended the school. She loves this school, the teachers, and her friends. I have so much respect for the principal and staff especially her teachers. Recently we had to relocate for family emergency and I had to put her in a school in upstate NY, she has told me everyday that the food is not as good as abbotts hill she doesn't like the teachers or the school building. She cries everyday when I leave her and I am going to make sure I bring her back for 1st grade. Thank you to everyone at Abbotts Hill.

Abbotts Hill is an amazing school, dedicated and caring staff. If you have a child with special needs, this school does consider all factors and has been instrumental for my daughter's success. I would highly recommend this school. She is having a wonderful 2nd grade experience...

Abbotts Hill is a wonderful school. This is our first year with the school and we're loving it so far. My son is in kindergarten; the teachers are amazing- energetic, enthusiastic, loving, caring, motivating, and encouraging. They have a wonderful curriculum. My son has learnt so much already in three months. They have exciting activities during the class hours that the children enjoy very much all while learning and acquiring new skills. I'm very pleased with the school.

I agree that the Vice Principal is awesome but the Principal is failing to realize that her overall attitude has lead many to dislike the school. It seems she fails to realize that her actions has affected the schools morale and feel. Compared to other schools this place is cold and uninviting whereas other schools are warm and inviting. I went to Lake WInward to see if I could transfer my son, I was told many people have tried to transfer out of AHE. That should tell her and her staff something but they continue to show no regard for anyones opinions. The teachers are good and I've heard no complaints and all have had great experiences with them it is more the administrative staff that puts a bad taste in parents mouths.
